More than 2 thousand violations in the sphere of waste management were suppressed in Tatarstan

More than 232 thousand people took part in the Saturday clean-up campaign which took place in municipal areas of the republic on April 27. More than 1.5 thousand units of equipment were used in the work process, more than 123 thousand cubic meters of waste were taken out to SDW landfills, more than 19 thousand trees and bushes were planted. These data were sounded by Artem Sidorov, the Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, at the weekly meeting in the House of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan. The meeting was held by Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan. Ildar Halikov, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, also took part in the meeting.
As for a city-wide clean-up campaign in Kazan, more than 139 thousand people have taken part in campaigns related to the city cleaning since the beginning of this two-month campaign. In the course of the two-month campaign and the Saturday clean-up campaign more than 122 thousand cubic meters of waste, including 7.5 thousand cubic meters on the day of the clean-up campaign, were taken out. Roadways and sidewalks, domestic territories and parks, gardens and squares were cleared away from garbage. 4 thousand 600 treesand 8 thousand 878 busheswereplanted.
In total, 2,487 violations in the sphere of waste management were suppressed in the republic. By results of the revealed violations, 849 protocols were drawn up, penalties amounting to 3 million 937 thousand 400 rubles were imposed. 19 cases were transferred to public prosecution bodies for initiating measures of public prosecutor's reacting.
Since the beginning of the two-month campaign 620 sites of unauthorized waste disposal of the total area amounting to 396 thousand 706 sq. m. were revealed.
1,886 violations in the sphere of waste management were revealed with the support of the city administration in Kazan. By results of the revealed violations 516 administrative cases were drawn up.
Rustam Minnikhanov pointed out that violators are to be treated more strictly, that it’s necessary to more attentively examine territories of the production enterprises and building complexes where often there is much waste.
“While our being in China, we paid our attention to the fact that at the time of construction work scaffold was closed with grid iron – there was no waste. In our country construction sites are easy to detect as waste is everywhere around. We need environmental culture. It is necessary to work hard and to be strict regarding this sphere, and the whole world will come to see us. It is necessary to monitor the situation in the Laishevo region and in the suburbs, to monitor railway spurs, forests should be in a good condition too. Much waste is taken out. In case of systematic violations, transfer these cases to prosecutor's office”, - summed up the President of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Inspectors of the Central Department, together with representatives of the Kazan Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor's Office and the Office of the Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography of the Republic of Tatarstan, conducted a survey of the territory of the Zelenodolsk district.
The events were held in the Zainsky district. The commission included inspectors from the Zakamsky Department of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan received an appeal from residents about violations of environmental legislation in the Yelabuga district. Inspectors from the Kama Department went to the site and confirmed the fact of dumping production and consumption waste into the territory of the Bug River water protection zone.
