I would like to congratulate you on your professional holiday – the Day of Geologist!
This is the holiday of both the veterans of geology and young romanticists that only start to become familiar with the profession of people who dedicated their lives to the study of the entrails of the Earth. Your soul helped you choose your tough profession. Hundreds and thousands of kilometers of roads are under your belt, priceless information on the state of the subterranean store house is in your hands. Your daily hard work presupposes not only deep theoretical knowledge, but also selfless allegiance to your work, common touch and a feeling of fellowship. Your work has always been and will always be one of the most respected and honored professions.
Today’s geologist is not a researcher with a hammer in his hands and a backpack full with samples of geological material. As any other science, geology has considerably advanced: we have modern computer technologies now, and the most up-to-date equipment. But people who decided to cast their lot with this profession will always be those enthusiasts and pioneers eager to work in the hardest conditions to make a discovery.
In accordance with the “Program on social and economic development of the Republic of Tatarstan for the years 2011-2015”, the strategic aim of further development of the Republic of Tatarstan involves enhancement of the quality of life of the population based on the model of competitive economy and efficient use of natural resources. Development and rational use of raw minerals base of mineral resources and subsoil waters is one of the factors of the economic growth. Use of these natural riches promotes further economic development of the economy of our Republic, inclusive of oil gas and chemicals field, industrial, civil and road construction that stimulate increase of the level of social and economic development of municipal districts of the Republic.
In these complicated life conditions our geologists managed to provide oil producing and extraction industry with explored stocks of raw materials, the availability of which serves as a reliable foundation for stable development of the region and our country.
Today, owing to your work, new deposits of mineral resources are being discovered, which means that a stable foundation for the future generations is being laid.
By congratulating you on your professional holiday, I voice confidence that geologists of the Republic of Tatarstan will make an honorable contribution into further development and prosperity of Tatarstan, as well as revival of potency of our motherland.
I wish you and your loved ones good health, youth of soul, successful findings, well-being and faith in achievement!

According to good tradition, the Ministry of Ecology hosted a New Year's tree for the children of the department's employees.
Inspectors of the Central Department, together with representatives of the Kazan Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor's Office and the Office of the Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography of the Republic of Tatarstan, conducted a survey of the territory of the Zelenodolsk district.
The events were held in the Zainsky district. The commission included inspectors from the Zakamsky Department of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan received an appeal from residents about violations of environmental legislation in the Yelabuga district. Inspectors from the Kama Department went to the site and confirmed the fact of dumping production and consumption waste into the territory of the Bug River water protection zone.
