Strict control and wide publicity are awaiting breakers of the nature protection legislation. The Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Artem Sidorov made such a statement during the briefing at the Cabinet of Ministers of Tatarstan. The Minister’s report was devoted to the holding of a two-month sanitary and ecological campaign on cleaning of cities and districts of the Republic of Tatarstan. This year it will start on April 15 and will last until June 15, meaning that it will last longer than usual. It is related to severe weather conditions and an intention to approach cleaning of the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan before the XXVII 2013 World Summer Universiade in Kazan. Airborne and rail transportation, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles will help detect littered sites on hard-to-get-to territories. Special attention is paid to the facilities of the upcoming Universiade. For the purposes of enhancement of supervision over sanitary and ecological state of Kazan, main forces of inspectoral staff of territorial bodies of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan will be mobilized. Subject to the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers, control headquarters will be created on site in order to coordinate work; availability of municipal vehicles on waste removal will be ensured; and the work of landfills on collection, sorting and burial of incoming waste will be inspected.
The work with socially active citizens will continue.Public ecological organizations and youth ecological movements are already involved in volunteer work regarding detection and elimination of the sites of unauthorized waste disposal. The “People’s control” service is exploited to the full extent ensuring feedback from the population and allowing each and every citizen of the Republic of Tatarstan to become a “public inspector”. This system was approved of by the nation's leadership and right at this moment its trial deployment is conducted in some regions.
Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Ramil Makhmutov, acting Deputy of the Head of Kazan Executive Committee Igor Kulyazhev, Kazan Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor Oleg Daminov, and Tatar Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor Ilsur Gilmutdinov participated in the press conference as well.
Inspectors of the Central Department, together with representatives of the Kazan Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor's Office and the Office of the Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography of the Republic of Tatarstan, conducted a survey of the territory of the Zelenodolsk district.
The events were held in the Zainsky district. The commission included inspectors from the Zakamsky Department of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan received an appeal from residents about violations of environmental legislation in the Yelabuga district. Inspectors from the Kama Department went to the site and confirmed the fact of dumping production and consumption waste into the territory of the Bug River water protection zone.
