The Year of Environment-oriented Culture and the Year of Love for the Motherland were inaugurated in Chistopol

Research and Practice Seminar “Inauguration of the Year of Environment-oriented Culture and Nature Protection in the Republic of Tatarstan and the Year of Love for the Motherland in the Municipal District” was held in Chistopol at Secondary School No 3. It was organized by the local department of the All-Russian Public Organization “Russian Geographical Society”. Fellow workers of the Volga-Kama Territorial Department took active part in the seminar along with municipal and district administrators, associate professors of the department of geography of Kazan Federal University, heads of district companies and services and pupils of secondary schools.

The work of the seminar was conducted on two subjects: “The lesson of geography and ecology” and “Modern information technologies in geography teaching”. In the course of the seminar participants were discussing problems regarding the environment and the Earth. Along with heads of municipal authorities they were trying to find the ways of their solution. Experts of the Volga-Kama Territorial Department spoke to pupils of secondary schools on ecological state of the Republic of Tatarstan and answered all the questions that interested the children. Many children generated ideas on preservation of natural resources and their protection. After the seminar a tour on “Architecture of a merchant city” was held for the participants. Moreover, they visited the municipal museum where they learnt a lot of interesting things regarding its history.

According to the organizers, such seminars promote development of responsible attitude towards the environment and help actively engage the youth in study and protection of the native land and its environment.
