“One Million Trees” in the Orenburg Region
The program “One Million Trees” was realized in the Orenburg region. Within the framework of this project, more than 2.45 million of seedlings and saplings of a pine, a birch, a Lombardy poplar, a black poplar, an ash tree, a fir-tree, a willow, a linden and other wood and shrub species were planted out in all administrative areas of the region within 2011 and the spring of 2012.
It is noted that for two years' work on implementation of this project, the campaign became widely known not only among regional organizations and enterprises, but also among the population. Only in the territory of the city of Orenburg local citizens provided more than 1,500 free seedlings and saplings of various wood species to be further planted out in the territory of the city.
The Contest for the Best Research Paper in the Environmental Field has been announced in Bashkortostan
The Ministry for Nature Management and Ecology of the Republic of Bashkortostan announced the contest for the best research paper. Both students and postgraduates of specialized secondary and higher educational institutions of the republic are invited to take part in the contest.
Improvement of the quality of professional environmentalists training, increase of students’ motivation to study ecological disciplines as well as spread of scientific research are the main objectives of the contest.
Both e-works and paper research works are accepted by the Ministry for Nature Management and Ecology of the Republic of Bashkortostan (Ufa, 86 Lenina St., 86, office No. 213) till October 15, 2013. Participants’ projects will be assessed by the panel of professional judges consisting of representatives of various nature protection departments, Regional Office of the Russian Union of Young Scientists in the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Bashkortostan.

The Ecological Marathon “200 Treasures of the World” took place in Ufa
The annual city ecological marathon “200 Treasures of the World” took place in Ufa. Drawing pupils’ attention to environment, conservation of biodiversity on the Earth, and upbringing of environmental mindset and careful attitude to natural resources were its main objectives.
The jury decided on the winners in two nominations: “Theatric Sketch” and “Wall Newspaper”.
The interesting name of the campaign is explained by the fact that according to scientists, there are 200 so-called “ecoregions” on the Earth. All the biological diversity of the planet is concentrated in these regions. In order to save the Earth from ecological destruction and death, it is necessary to keep purity of these of 200 unique corners of the wildlife.
The “Blossoming Lilac” Project will be realized in Ulyanovsk
Within the framework of the “Blossoming Lilac” festival and on the instructions of the Governor of the Ulyanovsk region Sergey Morozov, the Ministry of Forestry, Environmental Management and Ecology drafted proposals on lilac planting. Lilac planting is included in the regional campaign “Plant and Grow the Tree” and is scheduled for May 15, 2013.
“The staff of the Ministry, the Ulyanovsk Administration, and representatives of the public ecological organizations will take part in the campaign”, - said Dmitry Fedorov, the Minister for Forestry, Environmental Management and Ecology.
The All-Russian Scientific and Practical Internet-Conference (webinar) “Environmental Education: Problems, Ideas, Innovations”
We invite you to take part in the II All-Russian scientific and practical conference “Environmental education: problems, ideas, innovations”, devoted to the Year of environmental protection in the Russian Federation.
The form of the conference is a distance webinar. Indication, generalization, and translation of the experience of innovative educational establishments and creative teachers in the sphere of ecology and science education are the main objectives of the conference.
Teachers of preschool and primary education establishments, of secondary general education schools, gymnasiums, lyceums, cadet corps, establishments of additional education, educational institutions of primary, secondary, higher, and additional professional education as well as employees of cultural institutions, libraries, social workers, journalists and mass media, educational, scientific, public and commercial organizations, and public authorities are invited to take part in the conference.

The contest should determine municipal entities, industrial companies, ecologic and public organizations, educational establishments, mass media, citizens of Samara Region who have achieved the most significant success in nature protection activities during 2012.
The contest is held in the following nominations: “City”; “District”; “Industrial Giant” (when the amount of workers exceeds 1000 people); “Company” (when the amount of workers doesn’t exceed 1000 people); “Ecologic Organization”; “Public”; “Education” (subnominations: “Pre-school educational institution”, “Secondary educational establishments”, “Professional education establishments”); “Mass Media”; ”Enthusiast”; “Professional”.

Russian Junior National Water Contest in Udmurtia




The Ministry of Natural Resources and Nature Protection invites senior pupils of secondary educational establishments and special educational establishments of Udmurtia from 14 to 20 years to participate in the regional stage of the Russian Junior National Water Contest. This event is held in the framework of the 2013 Work Plan for the “Year of Nature Protection” in the Udmurt Republic. The contest motto for this academic year is as follows: “Water: projecting the future”.
Russian Junior National Water Contest is held by the Institute of Consulting of environment-oriented projects (Moscow) with the support of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Russian Federation and it is included into the “List of Olympiads and other contests, following the results of which the prizes are awarded to support talented youth” of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation in the framework of a higher-priority national project “Education”. During ten years of holding the contest, more than 15 thousand senior students have been able to participate.
The contest is divided into two stages: regional and the all-Russian. A winner of the regional stage of the Contest пред represents our Republic at the All-Russian stage in Moscow, the best participant of which obtains the right to go to the International Junior Water Contest in Stockholm (Sweden).
Applications to participate in the contest in 2012-2013 academic year will be taken from February 15, 2012. Electronic version of the project is to be sent to zar-eco@yandex.ru. Winners and participants of the Regional Stage of the contest will be solemnly awarded at the last decade of March 2013, which will coincide with the World Day of Water Resources.
