Within the framework of the year of environmental culture and protection the campaign “Feed Birds in Winter” took place in the Aznakayevo Region of the Republic of Tatarstan. The campaign was organized by the Priiksk Territorial Department. To arouse both people’s sympathy for our “feathered friends” and responsibility for their survival in severe winter days was the main objective of the campaign.
Within the framework of this campaign the cultural and ecological event “Birds are Our Neighbors and Friends” was carried out among the pupils of junior classes in the gymnasia of the Aznakayevo region. Pupils talked about species of the birds living in the Republic of Tatarstan. More than ten bird species fly to feeding troughs of the region. They are titmice, house and tree sparrows, blue rock pigeons, etc. Children told about their help to birds in winter and put new ideas up. According to teachers, it’s a useful campaign bringing up children’s love and respect for environment since it is necessary to call them for kindness, generosity and mercy from the early childhood. After discussion children took part in feeding troughs making and hanged them out in the schoolyard and in the garden territory.
Specialists of the Priiksk Territorial Department are planning to carry out the same campaigns in all preschool and school institutions of the region.
