Results of the Central Territorial Department work

The Central Territorial Department under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstansummarized the results of its activity for the year 2012. First Deputy Ministerfor Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustem Kamalov participated in the sitting.

Head of theCentral Territorial Department Ilkham Sabirov reported on the work conducted in the last year highlighting detected violations and the methods of their elimination. TheCentral Territorial Department conducted work aimed at maintenance of favorable state of the environment and reduction of the man-induced impact on thecatchment areain close cooperation with federal and republican authorities of state administration regarding nature protection issues.

The main effortsduring the reporting period were directed to execution of the following tasks:

– assurance of the propersanitary and ecological state of municipal territories;

– continuation of work aimed at maintenance of ecological safety in the period of preparation for and holdingof the 2013 World Summer Universiade in Kazan.

Moreover, during the reporting period, special emphasis was laid on solution of issues that had turned out to be the most burning for the citizens of Kazan and its districts. First of all, it regarded:

– absence of organized collection and removal of domestic and construction waste, especially in Kazan, which leads to formation of unauthorized waste deposits;

– improvement of sanitary and ecological state of the historical center of Kazan;

– air pollution by motor transport and certain enterprises.

Summing up the results of the work, it should be noted that the amount of inspections conducted by the Central Territorial Department and the amount of drawn up protocols exceeded one third of the total amount accounted for by the Ministry.

In general, First Deputy Minister Rustem Kamalov positively evaluated the activity of the Central Territorial Department in 2012 and called it the face of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan. According to him, this year it is necessary to enhance the quality of the state ecological control considering the upcoming 2013 World Summer Universiade.

Following the results of the year 2012, subject to the criteria of estimation of territorial departments, the Central Territorial Department was rated the first.
