Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan

The briefing with participation of Artem Sidorov, Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, took place at the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan in the form of a video conference, and it was devoted to the Year of Environment-oriented Culture and Nature Protection in the Republic of Tatarstan.

Moreover, during the briefing, Deputy Minister for Nature Protection Andrey Kalayda, Head of the Central Territorial Department under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Ilkham Sabirov responded to the questions of mass media representatives.

During his speech, Artem Sidorov presented an official symbol of the Year of Environment-oriented Culture and Nature Protection in the Republic of Tatarstan and shared his plans regarding nature protection events planned for 2013, pointing out to the most high-profile events.

This year, the whole nature protection complex will be busy handling interaction with concerned ministries, population and public organizations regarding holding of various events aimed at reduction of negative impact on the environment, effective work of the system of monitoring, and ecologic enlightenment of the population of Tatarstan.

The Plan of key events to be held during the Year of Environment-oriented Culture and Nature Protection in the Republic of Tatarstan was elaborated with cooperation of the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Forestry, the Ministry Of Youth Affairs, Sports, and Tourism, public environment-oriented organizations and higher educational establishments, and it was approved of by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan (Details of the Minister’s speech can be found at the Ministry’s website http://eco.tatarstan.ru/ Press Service, Minister’s formal addresses).

To wrap up his speech, Artem Sidorov noted that many nature protection campaigns of various forms and content, planned to be held in the framework of the Year of Environment-oriented Culture and Nature Protection, will give us true idea of determination and willingness of the Tatar population of various professions, ages and political opinions to unite their efforts in order to solve ecologic problems, and take active part in specific nature protection events.

When addressing mass media, he thanked them for their pro-active stand on the coverage of nature protection events and expressed his hope for active coverage of events related to the Year of Environment-oriented Culture and Nature Protection in the Republic of Tatarstan on TV channels, electronic mass media, newspapers, magazines and on the radio. He also suggested that initiatives regarding arrangement of cooperative events, such as “Let’s be people” be taken, considering that participation in such campaigns and support of such events will have positive impact, and, besides, such initiatives are very important to us.
