The International Children’s Environmental Forum “Green Planet 2012” coincided with the 40th Anniversary of the World Environment Day, took place in Moscow at the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation.
The Forum was organized by the All-Russian Public Children’s Environmental Movement “Green Planet”, which is the largest public organization in the country led by Marina Medvedeva.
Russian and foreign public environmental organizations took part in the Forum. All in all, there were 300 participants.
Public authorities actively engaged in fostering of ecological awareness were recognized in the framework of the Forum.
Among all the regions of the Russian Federation, it is the Republic of Tatarstan that was acknowledged in the “Green legacy” category that recognizes managers engaged in preservation of the natural wealth of the region. In such a way, the Grand Prix of the International Forum was awarded to the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan.
