9 November 2012, Friday
Today Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, laid the first stone into the foundation of a new complex of high refined heavy still bottoms of oil refinery “TAIF-NK”, OAO, in Nizhnekamsk. Artem Sidorov, the Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, took part in ceremony.
This new complex will be of great environmental value. So, in the result of oil refining 112 thousand tons of elementary sulfur will be produced every year instead of its being a part of diesel fuel and petrol with the following release into the atmosphere.
The complex will operate on the basis of the latest Veba Combi Cracking technology. It will be the first-ever industrial application of this technology. 2.7 million tons of tar - heavy still bottoms of oil refining from ELOU-AVT installation of “TAIF-NK” plant - will be refined annually by the complex. 2 million tons of Euro-5 standard diesel fuel, granulated sulfur, propane and butane gas fractions, and naphtha for further oil refining will be produced at the output.
The complex is the final stage of “TAIF-NK” plant technical upgrade. It is oriented on heavy still bottoms transformation into light hydrocarbons. With the complex launching the share of light oil products produced by “TAIF-NK” plant will make 95 %.
Special guests laid two symbolic capsules with the message to descendants both into the foundation of heavy still bottoms refining complex and into the foundation of “Air Liquid” Company plant, thus commemorating the beginning of design and construction works.
