“Worldwide Cleaning: We’ll do!”

On September 15, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan arranged cleaning of the territory of Tinchurin public garden, Grebnoy Channel quay in Technicheskya street, and the lake located on the intersection of Yarullina and Vakhitova streets on the initiative of proponents of “Zeleny Patrul” movement in the framework of the campaign “Worldwide Cleaning: We’ll do!”. Moreover, local citizens and public organizations of Kazan City took part in the campaign as well.

The campaign was mainly aimed at shaping the standards of social behavior related to the waste management culture.

The campaign was held in cities and districts of the Republic of Tatarstan. Citizens of Elabuga and Naberezhnye Chelny demonstrated the most active involvement.

So, for example, the campaign “Worldwide Cleaning: We’ll do!” in Naberezhnye Chelny was held with the support of Cis-Kama Territorial Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Department of Education and Youth Affairs of Komsomolsky, Central, Avtozavodsky Executive Committees of Naberezhnye Chelny. The National Park “Lower Kama”, Regional Public Organization “Liga Dela”, “Orion” youth theatre were the co-organizers of the project. The campaign was held on the initiative of the ecological movement “Musora. Bolshe. Net. Naberezhnye Chelny” (“No. More. Waste. Naberezhnye Chelny”). More than 500 people were engaged in the Saturday cleaning campaign. Fellow workers of Cis-Kama Territorial Department were also actively involved in the mission of preservation of city cleanliness.

That day thousands of people all over Russia hit the pavement to make their cities cleaner.

The Consolidated cleaning day was first held in 2008 in Estonia, where more than 50 thousand citizens were involved. In 2011 the event was arranged in 16 countries under the slogan “We’ll do!”, having gathered more than 2.7 million participants. In 2012 the environmental campaign became international: Saturday cleaning campaigns took place in 85 countries and united 300 million volunteers.
