“Say No to Extremism”

      In the framework of a one-month campaign “Say No to Extremism” that started in Tatarstan on September 1 in the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, fellow workers of the Central Administrative Office of the Ministry and the Central Territorial Department met with the member of the Ulema Council of the Spiritual Governance for Muslims, Head of the Islamic Dogma Department of the Russian Islamic University, Head of the Department of the History of Social Thought and Islamic Studies of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan Said-Damir Shagaviev that made a report “On the main doctrines of Islam and its role in the modern world”.

     During the meeting, fellow workers of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan could ask the lecturer any questions of their concern regarding the place and the role of Islam in the Republic of Tatarstan, on introduction in Russian schools of a new subject “Fundamentals of religious cultures and secular ethics”. In the course of discussion fellow workers of the Ministry made a suggestion regarding creation of health-improvement summer camps for Russian-speaking children under the auspices of the Spiritual Governance for Muslims.

      The meeting of fellow workers of the Ministry with the representatives of the orthodox clergy of the Republic of Tatarstan is also planned.
