“Clean Air” Campaign

    Today inspectors of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan with the participation of STSI of Kazan Regional Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and representatives of mass media carried out a raid within the framework of “Clean Air” campaign that started on June 1.

    Mass media representatives could see the process of selective motor vehicles inspection carried out by the inspectors of the Ministry at “Laishevo” stationary police post. The level of vehicle emission was determined using special gas-analyzers and smoke detectors.

    Specialists of territorial departments of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan together with inspectors of Traffic Police and state inspectors of regional departments of STSI of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Tatarstan carried out selective vehicle inspection at police checkpoints and on republic highways, too.

Since the beginning of the campaign inspectors of the Ministry have checked 430 cars, thus higher levels of emissions as compared to the established standards were revealed in 66 vehicles. 59 owners were administratively prosecuted under Art. 8.22 and 8.23 of Administrative Offences Code of the Russian Federation.
