Fellow workers of the Ministry took part in environment-oriented campaigns “The Cleaning Day” and “Clean Forests”

In the framework of the World Environment Day and Ecologist’s Day, a traditional joint environment-oriented campaign of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Underwater Sports Association of the Republic of Tatarstan and regional division of the Russian Geographical Society of the Republic of Tatarstan was held regarding cleaning of the lake bed and the coastal area of “Izumrudnoe” (pit lake in Yudino village) and “Komsomolskoe” lakes.
Representatives of “Edinaya Rossiya” (United Russia) Party, fellow workers of Kazan City Hall and proponents of non-commercial organization “Help another one” also took part in the campaign.
Environmental campaign “The Day of Waterbody Cleaning” is of international importance, and it’s the tenth time that it is held in Russia. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan in cooperation with the regional non-commercial organization “the Underwater Sports Association of the Republic of Tatarstan” holds this campaign for the seventh time.
It took the divers several hours to pick up rubbish from the bed of lake “Izumrudnoe”, while others helped taking it ashore. As a result, both the lake bed and the coastal belt were cleaned. Collected rubbish consisting mainly of glass and plastics was packed into containers and removed from leisure areas of city dwellers.
An environment-oriented campaign “Clean forests” took place on the same day with active participation of the fellow workers of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan. Household waste and dry wood were removed from the “Birch grove” (Derbyshki village).
