“Clear Air” Campaign

   In order to enhance the state control of the emission standards and to reduce the negative impact of transport on air a “Clear Air” Campaign is being conducted by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Tatarstan from June, 1st till September, 30th in the whole republic.

   Specialists of territorial departments of Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources in cooperation with Road Patrol Service inspectors and state inspectors from area offices of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of Ministry of Interior of Russia in Tatarstan will carry out an instrumental spot check of vehicles at the police checkpoints. The spot check will also be held on the highways, and the owners of the vehicles that exceed the emission standards will be brought to administrative responsibility under the law.

   Today the motor vehicle emission rate in Tatarstan exceeds 50 % of total emission in Tatarstan, and the total amount of vehicles is more than 970 thousand units.
