Water travel in Almetyevsk

From May 11th to 29th, 2012, in the framework of fostering of environmental education and awareness at secondary educational establishments of Almetyevsk, fellow workers of the South-Eastern Territorial Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan gave an awareness-raising talk “Water travel in Almetyevsk” in cooperation with the experts of OAO “Almetyevsk Water Services Company”.
During the class, the pupils were fully instructed on the process of collection, treatment, disinfection and supply of drinking water to the people’s houses and municipal organizations, along with the process of collection and purification of utility fluids entering the municipal drainage system. The class was held in the form of discussion. The pupils could ask any question of their concern whereto they received complete responses from the State Inspector for Environmental Protection of the South-Eastern Territorial Department and experts of OAO “Almetyevsk Water Services Company”. At the end of the class each pupil received specially printed colorful brochures containing the information on activity of the water treatment plant and water in general.
Moreover, from May 28th to 29th, 2012 an excursion to the water treatment plant of the 4th pump drainage of OAO “Almetyevsk Water Services Company” was arranged for the pupils of 5 “B” form of the secondary school No.1 and the pupils of 7 “A” form of gymnasium No. 1 named after R. Fakhretdin. During excursions the pupils saw what municipal water-supply facilities looked like, and what difficult and crucial work was conducted by fellow workers and experts of the Water Services Company in order for the citizens of Almetyevsk to have continuous drinking water supply. Moreover, the children found out about new technologies that are applied for the purposes of water purification and in order for it to become potable.
Experts of the South-Eastern Territorial Department and OAO “Almetyevsk Water Services Company” urged the young generation to care for the environment and, of course, for the water.
