World record on stay under the ice was set by divers of Russian Geographical Society

The world record was set by members of the underwater research team of the Russian Geographical Society named after Aleksei Leonov on Izumrudnyi Lake in Kazan. 10 hours and 5 minutes they spent under the ice. Also during the dive, Russian diving equipment was tested and various extreme scenarios were worked out: an accident, equipment failure, mutual aid in an emergency situation.
