Buinsk company faces criminal responsibility for the mass death of fish in Yashevka village

8,310 fish individuals died as a result of a violation of the rules for operation of a hydraulic structure in Yashevka village in Buinskiy district in November 2018. As the environmentalists explained, the enterprise responsible for operation of the facility carried out the water drain in the absence of the fish protection structure. This led to the discharge of water on the terrain along with bio-resources. The Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Tatarstan initiated a criminal case on the grounds of the crime provided for by Article 257 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Violation of the rules for protection of aquatic biological resources”.
