The tasks of the lesson aimed at fostering of solicitous attitude of the younger generation to the environmental heritage, as well as development of ecological awareness and pro-active approach to life regarding global environmental problems facing humanity can be deemed achieved since the pupils listened attentively to the lecturer and watched a video called “Home” created by the world renowned wildlife photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand and an extremely popular film director Luc Besson. The film showed beauty and fragility of our planet emphasizing the importance of caring for it, and, moreover, it helped the pupils to create a new vision that everything in this world is connected and that our task is to preserve the planet and save life on Earth. When the lesson was over, the children could ask relevant questions of their concern. For example, the pupils were interested in the ecological state of Kazan City and the Republic of Tatarstan, efficiency of environmental programs, use of alternative energy sources in the Republic of Tatarstan and so on.

Some sort of brainstorming was performed at the end of the lesson, in the course of which the children shared basic rules of conduct learned during the lesson. Each person abiding by such rules will be able to make a contribution into the maintenance of environmental balance.
