“Ecological marathon”

   In the framework of the All-Russian campaign “Spring week of kindness” with the support of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan “Ecological marathon” took place in the Philharmonic square. The marathon was held on the initiative of the Center of Voluntary Work Development of the Republic of Tatarstan and Ecological movement EKA.

The Festival purpose consisted in drawing public attention to the preservation of natural resources and fostering of ecological culture among the citizens of Kazan City.

In the framework of “Ecological marathon” various environmental events were held, where everyone could find a way to help the nature.

“Ecological marathon” included participation in the following activities:

The city Saturday cleaning;

The All-Russian campaign on collection of recyclable materials “Subbotka-Pererabotka” (“Recycling on Saturday”) in the Republic of Tatarstan;

The Second Environmental Festival “EcoFest” in Kazan City.

Thirty tons of waste paper were collected within the framework of the “Subbotka-Pererabotka” campaign.

The exposition of “green” projects “EcoInitiativa” regarding environmental protection was held at the festival. A concert featuring youth bands was organized for the festival participants.

Citizens of Kazan City, public organizations and educational establishments of the capital took part in the campaign.
