Sanitary and ecological state of the territories near railway shelterbelts

Today, the Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Artem Sidorov evaluated sanitary and ecological state of the territories adjacent to railway shelterbelts on route Kazan – Derbyshki - Sviyazhsk together with heads of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resource Usage for the Republic of Tatarstan, Federal Service on Surveillance for Consumer rights protection and human well-being for the Republic of Tatarstan, Deputy Head of Kazan City Executive Committee, heads of Kazan districts, Head of Zelenodolsk District Executive Committee, Head of Kazan Department of the State Railway, as well as representatives of mass media.
The event took place in the framework of a two-month campaign on sanitary cleaning of cities and districts that started in Tatarstan on April 1.
A four-hour trip enabled journalists and concerned services to familiarize with environmental condition near the railway bed on Kazan site of Gorki railway and to estimate scales of the pollution.
The inspection showed that Gorki railway on this site and its near-by territory are in an unsatisfactory state. However, the situation is a bit better than the one observed last-year.
Following the results of the inspection a detailed list of cleanup measures will be made. Within 10 days the work on territories cleaning is to start. Following the results of the inspection, a recurrent tour will be taken. In case of failure to take the relevant measures in due time, the most drastic measures of administrative influence will be applied to all the violators.
Railway lines are the entrance gate to the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, therefore such great attention is paid to the matter.
