A conference devoted to the opening of an environment-oriented campaign “The grackles have come” took place today at the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan. The campaign presupposes a contest among pupils of Kazan City for construction of nesting boxes and bird houses.
Deputy Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Andrey Kalaida, Leading Councilor at Biodiversity Department of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan Indira Tomaeva, Acting Director of Creative Production Association “Maxidom” LLC Vitaly Mrachko, PR-manager of “Maxidom” LLC Dariya Sergienko, as well as representatives of mass media and schools of Kazan City participated in the press conference.
The main aim of the indicated contest lies in development of the culture of solicitous attitude and care for environment in the younger generation.
The contest is to start on April 12 in Kazan. Any pupil or a group of pupils can take part in it. The main participation condition envisages presentation of a hand-made nesting box or a bird house after filing an application on a project website www.maxikonkurs.ru before April 20, 2012.
The winners will be decided by the Panel following the results of the contest. The Panel will consist of the representatives of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, public organizations, as well as the representatives of the company “Maxidom” LLC. Selection criteria include freshness of ideas and habitability of the piece of work.
The results of the campaign “The grackles have come” will be summarized on April 22, 2012 at the Central Park of Culture and Rest named after Maxim Gorky. All the habitable pieces of work will be placed in the parks of Kazan City.
