140 schoolchildren from Tatarstan will take part in the regional stage of the All-Russia Olympiad on ecology

The republican stage of the All-Russia Schoolchildren Olympiad on ecology will be held from 6 to 9 of February in the village Petrovsky of the city of Kazan.  More than 140 students of 9-11 classes from educational institutions of the Republic of Tatarstan will participate in this event. The winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad will take part in its final stage, which will be held from 18 to 24 of April in St.-Petersburg. It should be noted, that schoolchildren from Tatarstan for many years show a high level of knowledge on the issues of environmental protection. Last year the team from the Republic of Tatarstan became the absolute winner of the final stage of All Russia Schoolchildren Olympiad on ecology, which was held in Saint-Petersburg University of industrial technologies and design. 5 pupils took the first places, and another 17 became winners. "Only those, who demonstrate their attitude to nature in addition to the theoretical knowledge, can become the leaders on such intellectual competitions". Those environmental projects, which are developed by schoolchildren in the framework of this event, are an illustrative example  of caring about the environment. "It is important for us, that the younger generation grow up with such attitude to nature",-noted the Minister of ecology and natural resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, Farid Abdulganiev.
