30 November 2017, Thursday

Today the exhibition center "Kazan Fair" opened the 8th specialized exhibition and congress "Pure water. Kazan." The Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Farid Abdulganiev addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. He noted: "Tatarstan is the most watered entity of the Volga Federal District. It takes a lot of effort to preserve the most valuable resource - water." The Minister stressed that the issues of ecology and environmental protection require a systematic approach and joint efforts. "Tatarstan was one of the first regions to join the formation of a federal project to improve the Volga. Here the pilot group worked, which formed data for the implementation of a new ambitious project." Discussion of the topic of conservation and prevention of pollution of the Volga River in the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan was continued at the plenary session. Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Fayaz Shakirov, Chief State Inspector in the field of environmental protection of Tatarstan, made a report on the practice of detecting and suppressing violations of water protection legislation in the republic. He noted that in the Year of Ecology significant work has been done to reduce the anthropogenic load on the environment: reconstruction of treatment facilities has been carried out, 89 water bodies have been delineated, 567 special information signs have been installed, about 190 violations within the framework of the Kazanka River inspections, shore line of a total length of 800 kilometers has been cleaned. "Until 2025, it is planned to carry out measures due to which the volume of discharged contaminated sewage into the water bodies of the Volga Basin should decrease by no less than 60%," Fayaz Shakirov said. The conditions for the implementation of the project for the Volga improvement were reported by Professor Kazan Federal University, Corresponding Member of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan Venera Latypova. "Control and monitoring should be interdepartmental and conducted under a single program. To determine the sources of water pollution at early stages, it is necessary to create and maintain a network of inter-departmental environmental communication," she noted.
19 organizations participated in the exhibition this year. They presented new types of equipment and services for the design and installation and maintenance of treatment facilities, pumping and compressor equipment for the water industry, household and industrial water purifiers, projects for the environmental rehabilitation of water bodies.
