What is the relationship between people and the Earth ecosystems? Does the human influence the city ecology? A city intellectual and creative game “Man and Earth” was held in Naberezhnye Chelny. The educational event timed to the Year of Ecology in Russia and the Year of Ecology and Public Spaces in the Republic of Tatarstan was participated by students of grades 5-8 of schools and lyceums of the city. The children were able to test their knowledge of the environment and the surrounding world, learned interesting facts about waste recycling, the process of shallowing and drying of the Aral Sea and the present state of the Lake Baikal. During the game, participants received points. The teams that scored the most points were awarded with diplomas. “Responsible attitude to the natural environment develops from the school age. In the process of intellectual games, students of educational institutions showed a high level of environmental knowledge, shared their views on methods to reduce the negative impact of humans on nature,” said Ilshat Gubaidullin, a jury member and specialist of the Prikamsky territorial administration of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan.
