What devices do environmentalists use to take water samples? What is quantitative chemical analysis? What can result from excess of the norms of maximum permissible concentrations in the air? The answers to these and other questions were learned by the students of the Leskhoz School of the Arsk District in the framework of an excursion to the Central Specialized Inspection of Analytical Control of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan. An educative event for the children was conducted by the specialists of the Northern Administration of the Ministry and the head of the CSIAC Hadich Safiullina. They told the students about the selection and analysis of soil, water and air samples, demonstrated the working equipment and instruments. The practical part of the event caused the greatest interest among the children. Schoolchildren independently measured the acid-base indicator of water, looked through the microscope and binocular structure of microorganisms, familiarized themselves with the work of the mobile environmental laboratory. Specialists of the Northern Administration noted that this event was carried out with the goal of ecological education of the younger generation, since it is the combination of knowledge of the scientific bases of ecology and practical measures that will allow educating an environmentally literate citizen.
