5 October 2017, Thursday

The issues of “wild” quarries reclamation and the extent of water protection zones of small water bodies were discussed today at the meeting with citizens of Bavly. The meeting with the residents of the city and the district was conducted by the Tatar environmental interdistrict prosecutor Ilsur Gilmutdinov and the deputy minister of ecology and natural resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Chief State Inspector of Tatarstan in the field of environmental protection Fayaz Shakirov. During the meeting, answers and explanations were provided on environmental legislation, responsibility for environmental offenses and the procedure for resolving environmental disputes.
Within the framework of the working trip to Bavly district, Fayaz Shakirov and Ilsur Gilmutdinov also visited biological treatment facilities. This year, work has been completed on the reconstruction of pipelines, sludge beds, sand beds, major repairs of the grill unit, installation of a disinfection station and metering devices. These measures have allowed to increase the volume of processed wastewater and to improve the quality of treated water at the outlet of the septic tank. To date, an average of 3,000 m3 of domestic waste water per day come to the structure to pass through a 4-stage biological treatment system. The assessment of wastewater quality showed that the treatment efficiency has increased to 90-95%.
