Ecological lessons timed to the Day of the International Union for Conservation of Nature and the World Teacher's Day were held today throughout the country. The teachers were specialists of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, representatives of nature protection agencies: Rosprirodnadzor for RT, Rospotrebnadzor for RT, Rosselkhoznadzor for RT, Kazan inter-district environmental prosecutor's office, Tatar inter-district environmental prosecutor's office, activists of the youth ecological movement Budetchisto. They told the students about the creation, mission and main activities of the World Conservation Union. The fact that this organization developed the idea of creating the Red Book. Together with the students they discussed the natural features of the republic, the ways and methods of garbage processing, the significance of participation in environmental actions and competitions.
Students of the school No. 101 named after PA. Polushkin could try themself in the role of environmentalists. Yulia Shigapova, a leading specialist of the department of environmental education and interaction with public organizations of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, conducted a lesson for the 5th graders. The students got acquainted with the work of the mobile ecological laboratory, studied measuring instruments, took part in the sampling of atmospheric air on the school grounds. “Our first priority is to teach children to take care of the riches of nature and protect it from negative impacts. Ecological culture and responsible attitude to nature, grafted from an early age – a pledge of becoming an environmentally active person. Every schoolboy can contribute to the preservation and protection of nature. For this purpose, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan launched such projects as “School Eco Patrol”, Republican contest “Ecoleader”, competition of social ecological advertising “Clean Look”, – the expert of the Ministry of Ecology emphasized.
Environmental lessons are conducted by staff of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan regularly. They are aimed at fostering a careful attitude to nature, shaping the ecological consciousness and raising the ecological culture of the younger generation.
