Environmentalists: “Absence of containers is one of reasons for occurrence of unauthorized landfills.” Tatarstan equipped 115 waste collection sites

Absence of specially equipped waste collection sites annually becomes one of the reasons for the appearance of unauthorized landfills in horticultural partnerships. At the end of last year, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan initiated an appeal to the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan on the need to resolve the issue of financing measures to equip horticultural, gardening and dacha non-profit associations of citizens with sites for collecting solid municipal waste and equipping them with containers and bunkers. The order of the Cabinet of Ministers of RT approved a list of measures to modernize the infrastructure of horticultural, gardening and dacha non-profit associations of citizens for 2017. In the current year, 115 sites for the collection and removal of solid municipal waste in horticultural, gardening and dacha non-profit associations of Kazan, Verkhneuslon, Vysokogorsky, Laishevo, Nizhnekamsk, Tukaevo municipal districts have been equipped. Now the work continues. In 2018, equipped garbage collection areas will appear in other regions of the republic.

The measures taken will contribute to improving the sanitary and ecological condition of the territory of Tatarstan.
