Two years of imprisonment. Kazan resident prosecuted for illegal sand extraction

Imprisonment for two years. Such a punishment will incur the inhabitant of Kazan for illegal sand extraction in Laishevo district. The decision on the fact of theft of minerals was taken by the Laishevo District Court. Infringement of the nature protection legislation was revealed by the inspectors of the Central territorial administration of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan in November 2016. Environmentalists found the illegal sand mining conducted near the village of Kyzyl-Il with an excavator and trucks. The volume of extracted mineral was 2920 m3. By his illegal actions, the digger caused damage to natural resources in the amount of 526 thousand RUR. On this fact, a criminal case was initiated under paragraph "c" of part 3, Article 158 of the Criminal Code: “Grand larceny”. The perpetrator was brought to criminal liability. By the decision of the Laishevo District Court, the punishment for the "black digger" is imprisonment for two years.
