What is the composition of the earth materials? And what are minerals? Today, the students of the first ecological class in Tatarstan visited the Museum of Natural History of the Kazan Kremlin Museum-Reserve. Elena Gilmizyanova, a leading specialist of the department of environmental education and interaction with public organizations of the Ministry of Ecology of Tatarstan, conducted an outdoor lesson dedicated to nature: “Activities for children are organised taking into account their age. In the first class it is yet difficult to understand complex natural processes, but from this age children begin to build their ecological outlook and culture. That is why our task today is to improve the environmental knowledge among schoolchildren. It is important to lay the basics of an environmentally literate person in school age and teach them to take care of nature.” Today, the kids studied the geological history of the Earth, got acquainted with a unique collection of minerals, took part in paleontological excavations, watched cartoons about dinosaurs. The plans include a visit to the Kazan Zoo, the Volga-Kama Reserve, where practical environmental events will be held.
The project “First Ecological Class” was launched in Tatarstan from the 1st of September on the basis of Gymnasium No. 3 of Kazan. It is implemented by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan in the framework of the Year of Ecology and Public Spaces.
