New vectors of state environmental policy and modernization of environmental legislation discussed in Kazan today

Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Farid Abdulganiev takes part in the meeting Year of Ecology: New Vectors of State Environmental Policy and Modernization of Environmental Legislation within the framework of the International Legal forum Kazan Legal 2017. The issues discussed are:
- Climate regulation and greenhouse gas emissions: a common good or a burden for business?
- Fee for negative impact on the environment and its opportunities for economic stimulation of environmental activities.
- How to reduce environmental risks of business?
- Dialogue between business and the state – search of compromises and balance of interests.
- Compensation of environmental damage in the system of measures to ensure a good environment state.
- Environmental safety of industrial enterprises and balanced development of industrial infrastructure.
- Judicial resolution of environmental disputes: current problems and immediate prospects.
- Development of an environmentally sound waste management industry.
 
Minister Farid Abdulganiev delivered a report “Interaction of subjects and executive bodies of the government of the Republic of Tatarstan in the measures for environmental protection”. He noted that this year, proclaimed as the Year of Ecology in the Russian Federation, and the Year of Ecology and Public Spaces in the Republic of Tatarstan, the state policy on further reducing the negative impact on the environment continues. Effective environmental safety in Tatarstan is ensured with the continuous growth of the volume of the Gross Regional Product. The territorial environmental monitoring system established in the republic ensures the receipt of current reliable information and an important element of the environmental monitoring system is local observing systems, primarily the largest industrial associations. One of the methods of implementing environmental policy at enterprises and organizations of the Republic of Tatarstan is the rational use of natural resources and reducing the negative impact on the environment. Enterprises introduce advanced technologies and develop measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the Minister stressed. According to Farid Abdulganiyev, the reduction of emissions of pollutants, including greenhouse gases from vehicles, is facilitated by the conversion of cars to clean motor fuels, and especially to compressed natural gas.
Kazan Legal Forum will be held in Kazan until September 16.
