The reclamation of the Samosyrov landfill in Kazan has been completed
This was announced by the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic Alexander Shadrikov on the live broadcast of the Tatarstan Online program today.
"This year, thanks to the federal project "Clean Country" of the national project "Ecology", another object of negative impact on the map of Tatarstan has been eliminated – this is the Samosyrovsky landfill. Since 2020, we have been discussing this problem point, then we received about 300 complaints from residents." This year we commissioned this facility. This is a pilot project, reclamation was carried out with the introduction of an active degassing system. This is the technology of the future, all landfills should be reclaimed with the introduction of such a system, I believe. Now landfill gas will be beneficial, the 1.5 MW power plant has already been launched. We are working with the Executive Committee of Kazan on where this electricity will be used," the Minister of Ecology noted.
Let us recall that the project implementation period is 2021-2023, the cost of remediation measures is 872.2 million rubles. Thanks to the project, living conditions for 343 thousand people have been improved.
