Now chemical pollution has become the most significant thing. The students of 10-11 classes of Lyceum №116, named after the Hero of the Soviet Union A. S. Umerkin, devoted their works to the study of how to reduce the consequences of negative impact. The scientific and practical conference, dedicated to such field of science as "chemical ecology", was held based on the educational institution.

Within the framework of the federal target program “Development of Water Sector of the Russian Federation in 2012–2020,” work on the overhaul of 3 hydraulic structures began. 404.1 million rubles were allocated from the budget of the Republic of Tatarstan for implementation of 84 environmental protection measures. Agreements to ensure the implementation of 208 environmental protection measures totaling 274.5 million rubles were signed between the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Executive Committees of 43 municipal districts and 2 urban districts of the Republic of Tatarstan in 2018. As of December 27, 143 events were implemented for the amount of 208.79 million rubles.
