Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Marat Khusnullin said today that 104 wastewater disposal facilities have already been put into operation since the beginning of the federal project "Improvement of the Volga". The discharge of untreated wastewater into the river has been halved.

The best projects implemented by the regions for the construction and modernization of wastewater treatment plants in the Volga River basin with an analysis of the possibility of replicating the technologies and solutions used in them were presented today in Kazan as part of a seminar-meeting. Minister of Ecology of Tatarstan Alexander Shadrikov spoke about the republic's integrated approach to solving environmental issues, in particular issues related to the improvement of the Volga River.
