Modernized facility for local treatment of industrial wastewater started on “TAIF-NK”

Today in Nizhnekamsk, at the refinery PSC “TAIF-NK”, a solemn event dedicated to the launch, after a large-scale reconstruction, of the facility for the local treatment of industrial wastewater was held. According to Rustam Minnikhanov, this is the second significant event for Nizhnekamsk in the Year of Ecology. He recalled the recently arranged urban sewage treatment plants, which had many complaints. “At TAIF-NK this large-scale project was implemented for four years. We saw the world’s most advanced system with a 99.9% level of oil products removal,” said the President of Tatarstan. Rustam Minnikhanov called the TAIF-NK project a very good example of habitat protection. According to him, the environmental load in Nizhnekamsk decreased compared to previous years, while the oil deep processing plant (today Rustam Minnikhanov visited this facility too) being constructed at this refinery will produce the same volume as the primary production cycle of TAIF-NK”.
“Nizhnekamsk is the center of petrochemistry of the country, the growth point of the economy of the republic,” concluded the President of Tatarstan.
The mayor of Nizhnekamsk, the head of the Nizhnekamsk municipal district Aidar Metshin, in his speech at the facility opening ceremony, also noted that due to the care of the republic’s leaders and professionalism and effective activity of production specialists, the environment impact has been seriously reduced.
In the course of the treatment facilities modernization, in fact, modern, fully automated biological treatment facilities have been newly constructed. 99.99% of pollutants – petroleum products – will be removed. Emissions to atmospheric air from the treatment facilities will be reduced by 90%. The main goal of the project is to create a closed water cycle. The project provides for the reception and purification of all production and storm sewage, which are formed at existing facilities of JSC TAIF-NK and a new complex for deep processing of heavy residues being under construction.
The largest innovative project for the reconstruction of the facility for local treatment of industrial wastewater of JSC TAIF-NK meets the highest modern requirements. The treatment facilities are fully automated, use the technology of a multi-stage treatment: pre-treatment unit, physical and chemical purification unit, biological treatment unit, desalting unit, dehydration unit, and block for injecting salt-containing effluents into the absorption wells to a depth of 1.8 km. Due to the use of a multi-stage industrial wastewater treatment system, the water consumption of the enterprise will be reduced more than twice.
