Farid Abdulganiev: “Our task is to bring up a caring attitude to nature in children”. 100 new green areas to appear in Tatarstan under Year of Ecology
100 new green areas will appear in Tatarstan within the Year of Ecology and Public Spaces. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources announced a competition among the kindergartens and schools of the republic. To participate, it is necessary to send an application in an arbitrary form to e-mail ecokonkurs@tatar.ru before May 15, 2017, with a description of the environmental education work carried out in the kindergarten/school and the rationale for why your organization deserves to win the contest. The 100 most active kindergartens and schools will receive planting material for the creation of green plots. “Everyone knows that trees are the lungs of the Earth, the source of oxygen of the air, and hence the source of human health. It is important not only to know and be able to use these properties of trees, but also to learn to preserve what nature gives us. Ecological education begins with acquaintance with the objects of the nearest environment, which the child sees every day. Learning the nature on pictures is wrong. We must develop research abilities in children. And this contest, which we launched, will not only develop cognitive interest, curiosity to the world of living nature, the desire to observe, explore, but also the skills of research activities. Ecological education is always a priority”, said Farid Abdulganiev, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The goal of the contest “100 green corners” is:
- Development of children’s interest in studying the nature of the native land;
- Raising in children a caring attitude to nature;
- Extension of knowledge about plants;
- Formation of labour skills;
- Attraction of parents and employees of educational institutions to participate in the campaign;
- Landscaping of the territories of kindergartens and schools.
