VIII Ecological Forum “ZILANTIONOK” is open toyoungbiologistsandecologists

The issues of protection of Tatarstan water resources will be the main topic of theVIIICityOpenEcologicalForum“ZILANTIONOK” for school children of grades 1-7.  It is held in the framework of the open long-term ecological project “Zilant” aimed at the implementation of the systematic approach to environmental awareness and education of the younggeneration.Theresultswillbepresentedat the City Children’s Ecological & Biological Centre, High School No.126 (Sovetskiy district, Kazan city) on April8, but school childrenshall start active preparation right now. TheForumareasof focus are:

1. Scientificandresearcharea:

-  “Plant Ecology” (study of biological and ecological characteristics of plants, mushrooms, and lichens);

- “Animal Ecology” (research in the biology and ecology of animals, study of animal behavior);

- “HumanEcology” (influence of social and environmentalfactors on human health);

- “HumanandNaturalEnvironment” (relationship between humansand natural environment).

2. Environmentalprotectionarea (categoryfor theworks reflecting personal action in nature protection):

- cleaning and beautification of urban and suburban, coastal areas, water springs;

- landscapingandgardeningof schoolterritory;

- making of bird feeders and feedingwinter birds;

- making and hangingof birdhouses;

-  organizing and carrying out various environmental events.

3. Environmental awarenessarea:

- wall newspapers, posters, papers(are to be submitted and assessed at the distant stage);

-  creative writing (essay).
