Kazan will host open ecological forum “ZILANT”
ECO-school children are invited to participate in the XVII city public environmental forum “ZILANT”. This year it is devoted to the problems of protection of water resources of the Republic of Tatarstan. It is open to school children of grades 8-11. Topics and categoriesof the forum:
1. Research direction. Reports are heard on 7 sections: “Flora, ecology of plants”, “Fauna, ecology of animals”, “Bioindication”, “Water projects,Hydroecology”, “Homo sapiens: social ecology, psychology”, “Industrial ecology”, “Human health and ecology”.
2. Organizational direction (category– propaganda teams) on the forum theme.7 of propaganda teams participate in the category– one from each city district. Age of participants in this categoryis from 6 to 11 grades. It is recommended to hold the qualifying rounds in districts. If qualifying rounds in districts are not held, a team can come to the city children’s ecological and biological center to take part in the qualifying round (video of its performance) until 21 January, 2017.
3. Environmental direction “Biodiversity conservation and problems of natural resources protection in the Republic of Tatarstan”. This section includes hearing the reports on environmental activities which tell about personal actions in addressing the conservation problem, e.g. cleaning and beautification of urban and peri-urban areas, coastal areas, water springs, landscaping and gardening of school territory, hanging bird feeders and feeding of wintering birds, making and hanging nesting boxes, organization and holding a variety of environmental actions, etc.
4. Educational direction on the forum theme. The competition is held in absentia in three categories: wall newspapers, creative writing (essay), and posters. All works submitted for the contest should correspond to the forum theme.
Works will be accepted until January 20, 2017 in the City children’s ecological and biological center at the address: 420061 Kazan, Kosmonavtov street, 57; tel/fax: 273-48-55.
Results will be announced on January 27, 2017 in the sport center ofthe KFU“Unix”. The event is held since 2001. It aims at creating optimal conditions for the intellectual and creative expression of school children, promoting pre-profile work with high school children.
