Active participants of the ecological campaign "Bring waste paper - save a tree!" were honored today at Specialized School No. 19 in Kazan. The event was held at the Specialized School on November 14-25th, and during this period pupils managed to collect 4 tons of waste paper. Form 1B was rated the first. Over two weeks they managed to collect 919 kg of paper and carton. "The campaign on wastepaper collection has become a tradition at our school. All in all, over the last year we collected 12 tons of raw materials. And if you take into consideration that 60 kg of wastepaper saves 1 tree, it's safe to say that we have so far saved 200 trees", commented the Headmaster of Specialized School No.19 Andrey Talmanov. - "Our slogan is as follows: 'We always strive for perfection'". "It is very important to instill the culture from the early childhood", acknowledged the Deputy Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Insaf Galiullin. - "There are several tasks when it comes to the secondary use of resources. This means solution of the problem of limitedness of resources, and a decrease in the cost of final products due to the use of cheaper raw materials, and protection of the environment from pollution. In this case we also instill the culture - ECO culture - in the younger generation. We should not only sort and recover the waste that can be used for the second time correctly ourselves. We should teach our children that. And today I am pleased to see how actively the pupils of the Specialized School are involved in the process. As one big team they made their significant contribution into the nature preservation". Active pupils were awarded with notebooks issued to the Year of Ecology and Public Spaces in Tatarstan where the rules of ECO-behavior in the town and out of town are described in detail.
