Ecological specialists of the Republic held "Lessons of cleanliness" today with thousands of pupils and students from Tatarstan as the audience.

An ecological and educational campaign "Unified ecological lesson" was held today all over the Republic. "Lesson of cleanliness" was held today for pupils and students by the representatives of nature protection authorities of Tatarstan. The campaign is devoted to the Year of water protection areas in the Republic of Tatarstan. It is meant to attract attention of the young generation to the matters of environmental protection, development of ecological mindset and careful attitude to water as a vital resource.

More than 8 thousand large and small lakes, about 4,000 springs and more than 7,375 swamps are located on the territory of Tatarstan. Water resources are an indicator of well-being of any territory, while the state of flora and fauna, climatic events, weather parameters and dynamic processes of the biosphere depend on their extent, state and conditions. The resources of surface and underground waters of the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as their quality are the life- and environment-forming component that determines social, economic and ecological well-being, so for that matter the issues of complex use, protection and restoration of water resources are referred to top priority matters of the Ministry, and their solution is an integral part of assurance of the national safety of the Republic of Tatarstan.
