The Public Chamber of the Russian Federation arranged the "Hot line" to monitor ecological violations. Citizens can report illegal landfills, discharges of industrial waste, cutting down of trees and taking over of recreation areas. Arrangement of such a "Hot line" will promote creation of the All-Russian Register of ecological violations, which will allow to enter the Year of Ecology with the up-and-running system for public monitoring of the state of the environment, as it is reported on the official website of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation.
Hot line of the Public Chamber is8-800-737-77-66 (the call is free of charge in Russia, working hours: Mon-Thu - from 9 am to 6 pm, Fri — from 9 am to 4:45 pm (MSK)), or one can report using a special form on the website of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation.
All the reports will be reviewed, while the relevant letters will be referred by the Commission on Ecology and Environment Protection under the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation to the state authorities; public organizations will also be involved to help solve the matters faster.
Moreover, the project will function in the social media ("Vkontakte") on the official web-page of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation https://vk.com/civic_chamber. To report on the problem, one should post a photo of a littered site in the open photo-album under the hashtag #экологиявмоемгороде(#ecologyinmycity). The coordinates should be specified along with the core of the problem, the consequences and, if relevant, the authority's response.
As a reminder, a Public Ecological Reception Office has already been arranged in the Republic of Tatarstan: Hot line number: (843)267-68-67, e-mail: eco.signal@tatar.ru, a report can also be sent to the "People's Control" system, and a special mobile application "School eco-patrol" was elaborated for the pupils. Moreover, the citizens who provide operative information on the violations of the nature protection legislation with photo or video registration of such are remunerated.
