Another violation of the nature protection legislation in the field of nature resources use was revealed today by inspectors of the State Inspection for Ecological Surveillance and the Central Territorial Department under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan. Unauthorized extraction of common mineral resources was detected by ecological specialists in the course of a raid in Laishevo district near Sokury village. The area of an illegal quarry amounted to more than 4,000 square meters. The experts are now estimating the damage inflicted on the environment by "black diggers". Four (4) dump trucks and a wheel-mounted power shovel were retained by joint efforts of the fellow workers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for Laishevo District of the Republic of Tatarstan and experts of the Department of the State Road Traffic Safety Inspection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Tatarstan.

The case materials will be referred to the Nature Protection Prosecutor's Office.
