To that extent, the Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, Farid Abdulganiev, addressed representatives of the nature protection services:
"Nature protection area of Tatarstan has a long and rich history. It's been 15 years since the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan took over the watch of the Republic's nature. Earlier it was called the Ministry for Environment Protection and Natural Resources. At all times, the main trend of its activity was to implement large-scale republican programs on improvement of the economic mechanism for nature use, environment protection in the Republic, as well as ecological education. The Constitution of the Republic of Tatarstan adopted in 1992 played the pivotal role in the process of generation of the new nationhood since it formalized the right of the citizens to favorable environment, as well as the right of the future generations to the use of the natural resources potential. Today, our Republic can set tons of examples pertaining to the ecologically balanced managerial solutions, as well as the examples of a responsible attitude of the business community to solution of ecological problems, efficient interaction of authorities with the scientific community and public. An ecological cluster was formed in Tatarstan, the components whereof include large companies implementing long-term nature protection programs and making considerable contribution into reduction of man-induced impact, as well as municipal units providing for the sanitary and ecological safety of subordinate territories, the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Institute for the Problems of Natural Resources Use and Ecology under the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan ensuring scientific support of the activity in the field of environment protection, educational institutions at all levels, and, first of all, the leading higher educational institutions of the Republic, federal and regional authorities in charge of the ecological control and surveillance in the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as public ecological organizations. Today I would like to congratulate us all.
