"How to make a bird-house correctly" - this and many other topics were touched upon during the campaign "Grackles have come" organized for the children attending "Altynchech" nursery of Buinsk.

Experts of the Trans-Volga Territorial Department under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan participated in the ecological and educational campaign "Grackles have come".  The campaign was organized by the administration of the "General development nursery 'Altynchech'" of Buinsk to ensure ecological education of children and to develop in them the knowledge of taking care of the birdkind. "Not only do birds living nearby help the environment invaluably, but they also make up happy with their appearance and singing", acknowledged the hosting party.

A master class on making of birdhouses was held for the children and their parents as one of the elements of ecological education. They found out that not all birdhouses are suitable for birds. For instance, only natural wood can be used for construction of birdhouses (except for coniferous species), and unpolished boards are even better, so that nestlings don't have trouble climbing the wall to get out. Moreover, it is important to remember that grackles don't just live in such houses, the size and type of a birdhouse also matters.

At the end of the meeting, the children observed their parents and ecological specialists hanging the birdhouses in the greenbelt of Buinsk. Such a joint campaign will long be remembered by the children, and they will be more attentive towards their feathered friends taking care of them not only during winter, but during other seasons as well.
