The delegation of the Ministry of ecology familiarized with the activities of the units of the MUP "Vodokanal" of Kazan city

Today the delegation of the Ministry of ecology and natural resources of the Republic of Tatarstan headed by the Minister Farid Abdulganiev, as well as representatives of the Department of Rosprirodnadzor the Republic of Tatarstan, the Department of Rospotrebnadzor for the Republic of Tatarstan familiarized with operation units of the MUP "Vodokanal" of Kazan city. The delegation was accompanied by Director General of MUP "Vodokanal" Andrey Egorov.

Members of the delegation visited the Volga water intake, pumping station, melting point, biological treatment plant and sludge field. Representatives of the Ministry of ecology, Management of Rosprirodnadzor and Rospotrebnadzor Administration told about the cleaning and processing of wastewater, disinfection and removal from wastewater treatment plants, control the quality of drinking water supplied to consumers on the operation of networks and facilities, and ensuring the smooth operation of systems of water supply and sanitation.

Of particular interest was the sludge beds of municipal unitary enterprise "Vodokanal" for the settling and drying of sludge from wastewater treatment plants. Treated water is discharged into the Kuibyshev reservoir, and the resulting precipitate was removed to sludge beds. The total area of the sludge fields is 100 ha. As noted Andrei Yahorau, every day here is taken out 150-250 tons of sludge depending on the time of year.

In the framework of the meeting discussed the possibility of upgrading and reconstruction of wastewater treatment facilities.
