The results of the “School eco-patrol” contest were summarized

The ceremony of awarding of winners of the Republican Contest “School Eco-patrol” was held today at the Victory Park of Kazan. Pupils of secondary educational establishments of the Republic of Tatarstan participated in it from September 1, 2014 until May 1, 2015. The contest was organized by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan together with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Ministry of Information Support and Communication of the Republic of Tatarstan. Using a specially developed mobile application, pupils of educational establishments registered the information on unauthorized waste placement sites and referred it to the Ministry, and then inspectors implemented measures aimed at their liquidation. All in all, 1,166 photo messages were received regarding unauthorized waste placement sites.

The Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Artem Sidorov opened the ceremony. He acknowledged high activity of pupils in the contest “School eco-patrol” initiated by the Interim President Rustam Minnikhanov. During the contest, statistics was registered regarding each pupil, each form, each school, each municipal district and each urban district. There were a lot more messages received from pupils as compared to the amount of messages received through the state system “People’s control”. The Minister Artem Sidorov acknowledged high level of activity of the young generation in the matter of the environment preservation. The Minister of Ecology expressed special gratitude to teachers for active work on ecological education of the young generation, since today lessons and additional classes on ecology are held in many schools of the Republic. According to Artem Sidorov, to be a participant of the contest “School eco-patrol” means not only to see violations, but to aspire for improvement of the situation. It also means the desire to participate in the environment protection. On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Minister for Ecology expressed his gratitude to winners and participants of the contest “School eco-patrol”. He wished everyone success in studies, strong health and new victories.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Information Support and Communication of the Republic of Tatarstan Roman Shaykhutdinov, Deputy Minister for Science and Education of the Republic of Tatarstan Ildar Mukhametov, Head of the Executive Committee under the Territorial Regional Department of the All-Russian Political Party “United Russia” Andrey Kondratyev also participated in the awarding ceremony.
