A meeting with working young people was held in Nizhnekamsk regarding ecological issues

A meeting of working young people with the Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, Artem Sidorov, and the Head of Nizhnekamsk Municipal District AydarMetshin, was held in Nizhnekamsk. More than two hundred people gathered at the lecture hall of Nizhnekamsk Institute of Chemistry and Technology.
The issue of air quality in Nizhnekamsk was the most burning problem for discussion. The youth was interested whether it is possible to reduce emissions at the enterprises of the industrial hub. Artem Sidorov responded that today the work on implementation of special control sensorsat every emission source is carried out, and such sensors will convey theinformation directly to the Ministry of Ecology. According to the Minister, this issue has already been coordinated with the governing body of “TANEKO” OJSC, and the work is being carried out at other enterprises as well.Starting from 2008, the amount of harmful emissions into the air of Nizhnekamsk district has reducedfrom ninety to sixty thousand tons. Meanwhile, the republican programenvisages an even greater reduction of emissions in the nearest future. According to Artem Sidorov, the main problem lies not in newly constructed facilities on the territory of the district, but in the fact that it is important to modernize old plants that were builtduring the last century.The issues regarding city beautification were also touched upon.
Inspectors of the Central Department, together with representatives of the Kazan Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor's Office and the Office of the Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography of the Republic of Tatarstan, conducted a survey of the territory of the Zelenodolsk district.
The events were held in the Zainsky district. The commission included inspectors from the Zakamsky Department of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan received an appeal from residents about violations of environmental legislation in the Yelabuga district. Inspectors from the Kama Department went to the site and confirmed the fact of dumping production and consumption waste into the territory of the Bug River water protection zone.
