In Tatarstan, more than 3,500 vehicles have been inspected as part of the Clean Air operation
The Clean Air proactive enforcement operation continues in the Republic of Tatarstan. It launched on 1 June in support of the national project Environmental Well‑being.
Inspections are carried out by inspectors of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan jointly with officers of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Tatarstan and the Interregional Territorial Directorate of Rostransnadzor for the Volga Federal District (since 2024). Gasoline, diesel, and gas‑engine vehicles are under scrutiny.
To date, 3,771 motor vehicles have been inspected: 3,385 passenger cars, 196 trucks, and 190 buses. A total of 78 exceedances of pollutant levels in emissions have been detected.
Inspections have already taken place in Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny, and 20 districts of Tatarstan: Verkhneuslonsky, Chistopolsky, Buinsky, Nizhnekamsky, Aznakaevsky, Arsky, Leninogorsky, Tukaevsky, Mendeleevsky, Yelabuzhsky, Baltasinsky, Tyulyachinsky, Sabinsky, Cheremshansky, Bavlinsky, Almetyevsky, Kukmorsky, Yutazinsky, Apastovsky, and Alekseevsky districts.
Explanatory work is being carried out with vehicle owners who committed exceedances, to highlight the need to comply with legislation on atmospheric air protection. Administrative offence reports are being drawn up.
For example, inspectors of the South‑Eastern Directorate carried out checks to detect exceedances of pollutants in vehicle exhaust gases in the Almetyevsk district. Within a few hours, more than 50 vehicles were inspected and 4 violations were identified.
In turn, officers of the Priiksky Directorate conducted a raid in the Yutazinsky district and inspected 45 motor vehicles.
It should be recalled that the Clean Air operation is an annual proactive enforcement event aimed at reducing atmospheric pollution from motor vehicles. The campaign includes checking the technical condition of exhaust systems and the level of harmful substance emissions. The main goal is to identify and eliminate violations of environmental standards, as well as to raise environmental awareness among vehicle owners.
Checks on the republic’s roads will continue until 30 September 2026.
