Ecological Congress "Water of Russia" will bring together experts and volunteers in Naberezhnye Chelny
From April 16 to 17, a two-day Ecological Congress "Water of Russia" will be held in Naberezhnye Chelny, bringing together the professional community and the volunteer movement. The first day will be devoted to expert work, the second to the launch of the coastal cleaning season across the country.
The congress is organized by the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation, the coordinators are the Analytical Center of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The first day will open with an extended meeting on "Topical issues of water use". The agenda focuses on the analysis of current environmental challenges and the development of systemic solutions at the federal and regional levels. The meeting will be attended by Maxim Korolkov, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, Azat Ziganshin, Minister of Ecology of Tatarstan, heads of regional ministries of ecology, heads of relevant departments and leading environmental experts at the federal level. Elena Dovlatova, Executive Director of the Russian Association of Water Supply and Sanitation, will moderate the discussion.
The first day will also include a seminar for regional representatives of the All-Russian campaign "Water of Russia", which takes place within the framework of the national project "Environmental well-being". The participants will discuss practical mechanisms for coordinating environmental initiatives on the ground, share their experiences on clean-up days, and outline plans for the upcoming season.
The next day, on April 17, Maxim Korolkov, together with the mayor of Naberezhnye Chelny Nail Magdeev and the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Azat Ziganshin, will solemnly open the new season of the action "Water of Russia". All regions of the country will join the All–Russian clean-up, some of them will be live. Participants of the ecological congress, volunteers and residents of the city will come out to carry out large-scale cleaning on the banks of the Kama River. The program of the Naberezhnye Chelny eco-festival includes interactive zones, master classes, a fitness workout, and a concert program.
"The Ecological Congress "Water of Russia" in Naberezhnye Chelny is an event not only for the Republic of Tatarstan, but also for the whole country. Combining the expert community and the volunteer movement allows us to systematically address issues of conservation of water resources and coastal areas. It is especially important that this year's congress simultaneously solves two tasks: at the expert level, we are developing system solutions in the field of water use, and at the practical level, we are launching a new coastal cleaning season throughout Russia. Tatarstan is ready to share its experience and learn from colleagues. I am confident that through joint efforts we will be able not only to preserve, but also to enhance the aquatic heritage of our country," said Minister of Ecology Azat Ziganshin.
Representatives of the All-Russian ecological public Movement "Ecosystem", the Charity Fund "We Help Out" and corporate volunteers of KAMAZ PJSC have already announced their participation in the opening of the season of the action "Water of Russia".

The Republic of Tatarstan has been the winner of the All-Russian campaign "Water of Russia" for coastal cleaning for five years in a row. In 2025 alone, more than eight thousand environmental measures were carried out in the Republic to clean up coastal areas from garbage. 410,479 caring citizens took part in them, who collected a significant amount of garbage in the region. The impressive result of more than 11 thousand kilometers of cleared shores was made possible thanks to the active citizenship of Tatarstan residents and their desire to preserve the natural wealth of their native land.
